Sweet Dulce and Tamales

Monday- Today we got up early and took a bus to Xela, after we got to xela we went to the doctors office and waited like two hours then finally went in and he said I can take my splint off on Saturday and then in 2 weeks I'll start physical therapy! Then we left and went to this nice soccer arena, and we played against this other zone! It was really fun, until I was running and slid into the post and hit above my eye, I didn't think of it and started running again and then everyone started saying you are dripping blood, I guess I cut above my eye, so I got cleaned up and got some gauze and some tape on it, then we left and ate lunch at burger king! Then went to the mission office and the nurse checked it out, she wanted me to get stitches, so we went to the doctors office again and we waited forever, and then he finally came in and gave me the stitches in like 5 min, he gave me three and was like why are you here again haha, I said I don't know bad luck. We then left and went and picked up meds, then we left for momos, took the bus back to momos and we wrote our families for like 30 min then we went back to the Zone leaders house, we went on divisions for the night, I went with an elder to a couple of visits and then we went and had dinner at someone's house.
Tuesday- Today we got up and I left with a different to's companion to xela, we had our meeting for leaders, and we left and got there. The meeting went really well, we talked about a lot of great stuff, talked a lot about the faith and repentance! We then read this talk by an apostle and marked it up, it was really good. We then had lunch after and then we had to wait for our zone leaders to get back from the doctors office. So we asked for permission to go to the temple and buy some new garments! We then left with zone leaders back to our area, it was a long long day! We then came back and I went back to my area, we had an appt with this little girl named dulce that we have been teaching, anyways we invited her to be baptized this saturday!! She accepted and her mom gave permission!! So we have a baptism for this saturday!!!! We were so excited, we came back to the house and celebrated haha.
Wednesday- Today we got up and took a bus to momos, we had a big zone meeting, the zone leaders and the district leaders we had to explain everything that happened in the meeting yesterday to the whole one, so we got up and explained all of that, it went really good. We then went and ate at the famous restaurant lools, so when we are there always these little kids come in to shine our shoes, or sell candy or razors, but since we came in on a wednesday none of them came. We ordered and finished eating as we were leaving this little kid with one quetzal razors came in and we all bought one from him, he walked out with like 30 quetz with the biggest smile on his face haha, it was awesome. We then got our stuff and left back to our area, we had an appt with little dulce, so we left to go visit cause she lives kind of far, we got there and no one was there… we called and they said they wouldn't be back till 6, so we decided to go visit some else and then come back. We came back and they weren't there, we tried calling like a million times but no one answered we waited till 7 doing studies haha, no one showed up...ugh but we went and visited another family and had a great visit, we talked about jesus christ and how important he is for us. It went really good!
Thursday- Today we got up and we got to washing all our clothes, we then had our weekly planning and planned for the week coming gup, that went really good, we put a lot of great goals and want to help this award as best as we can! We then had lunch and made eggs with beans and tortillas, the usual well what I've had a lot.. But then we had our study times after lunch then we went and visited dulce, she lives kind of far so we started our way up there, they were there actually!! We helped them with their corn, we helped beat the corn then pour it into big baskets then seperate it and put it into other big bags, we did that for a while and it went really well. It was fun too, we then taught dulce a ton of lessons, but shes little so you have to teach way differently than you would for an adult, so we taught her a ton and she learned it really fast, we then finished by helping the family more with the corn and finished up. It went really good we got a lot of trust from them and they loved us for helping haha. We then left and went into a tienda to buy a snack and met this guy named Carlos, he was very friendly and talked to us for about 40 min in there haha, he was a little drunk but talked to him about the church and everything we do haha, then we hiked up this huge mountain to members and we had a little message with them and then we ate dinner. They gave us tamales and ooh… I haven't had one since december and oh it was so good, they gave us two and I was stuffed but oh it was so good!! They were like this is for you because its fourth of july haha. We then walked all the way back, it was freezing!! We came back and had some root beer and just kind of chilled. This is my second fourth of july here but it was a well spent day!! Happy 4th of July!!!
Friday -Today we got up and we had breakfast, my compa made me some pancakes and then we had our studies and then we left and knocked on a few doors then we had lunch. We just had some cereal and then we helped these ladies carry cinder block all the way to their house. We had to use this thing to carry them to there house and it was really fun, but it was hard work, Ill have to send a pic of how, but use put it on your head and then on your back, its weird but fun. We then finished helping them and went to the main dirt road to wait for our zone leaders to come to do the interview for dulce. They weren't showing up so we went to dulce{s house. We got there and started to help with the corn again. The zone leaders finally showed up and they did the interview and then we went and picked some apples with them. We went back with the zone leaders because we had to pick up some dresses for the little girls that are going to be baptized tomorrow. We were getting on the bus to go back to our area when the zone leaders called again and told us to stay because they needed help. So we stayed and went on divisions with them to help them cover to appts they had. We had to stay in momos because there were no buses that leave to our area. We stayed and ordered some gringos, they are these taco things that are pretty good!
Saturday- We got up early and took a pickup back to our area, we got back and had to go get the baptism font keys from the bishopric and then come back and fill the font, we cleaned up the church a bit and filled the font. We went and ate breakfast while it was filling, then we had to go help this sister prepare an activity for the primary that was going to happen. We then came back to do our studies and theses little kids came up to our house to play with us, we played a little soccer with them, and they played with our nerf guns haha. We then got ready and went down to the church and waited for everybody to get there. Here it is ran on guatemala time, always like an hour late haha, but we started and they announced I was giving a talk on the holy ghost, this has happened to many times, Im not mad or scared or nervous, just get up there and talk haha. We then had the baptism of the three little girls, after we had some messages and then we had some hot chocolate and some bread, it went really good, everything went well and we baptized little dulce! We then went and visited some investigators and then later we went to a members house to make my comps fav food, baleadas, we made our own tortillas and eggs, beans, and cheese. It went really well, they turned out amazing, although the tortillas were a little messed up but it didnt matter!! We then came back to the house and got ready for bed.
Sunday Today we got up and got ready, then we went to church, I had to help bless the sacrament so I was up there and then we had our confirmations for the little girls, I did one of the little girls, my comp did the other and the bishop. They went really well. After church we had meetings with the mission leader and then we had the ward council, it went really good, we touched on a lot of topics and helped the ward out a lot. After we had to send in our documents for the baptism and the scanner isn't working so we went back to the house had lunch and then left with a member who took us to momos, we had to go to the stake center to send it. We got it all sent in and then came back to santa ana, we went with some of my comps converts, we visited with them and had some tamalitos with them and then we walked back and it was so dark!! The dogs started coming and we fought them off, I hit a little one in the head with a rock and it wouldnt stop crying haha, but we got away before they all came again! We got back to the house and waited nervously for about half an hour for the call of the zone leaders, so that they could tell us the changes in the district! They said my comp had changes and that I would stay here! Wow, I'm so excited to stay but actually kind of bum that my comp has to go! He doesnt want to go either but oh well. Well I stayed up with him and helped him pack up all of his stuff! We then went to sleep.
This week was a week full of craziness. At first I was so frustrated with having to get stiches and everything happening to me!! And not being able to write my family much, but then I saw the miracles happening in my life!! We had a baptism and it went amazing, I love that little girl and she made the right choice to be baptized, I love this gospel and I love all the blessings it brings! I know our heavenly father loves us and he will always be there for us! I love being a missionary!! Till next week, Miss and love you guys!!
