Groceries in Suitcases

Monday- today we got up super early and made our way to the center of Momos, we met with all the elders from our zone and hermanas, there are 24 of us!!! We are the biggest zone in our mission! BUt we went to xela, and went to walmart and bought tons of food for the month, we all brought suitcases and put that food in our suitcases haha and then we all went bowling, it was so fun!! We bowled for like an hour and a half, then we went to subway and it was delicious!! Later my comp and I went to a place to get his glasses, the rest of the zone called and said that the bus was  leaving to momos, we hurried and ran like a mile, the bus was leaving and they saw us, threw our suitcases up on top and we jumped on haha! After we arrived in momos again, we went and wrote our parents, that went really good! Later we worked in the area of the zone leaders for the night, after that we came back to the house and there was like 16 elders in the same house, we put together all the mattresses and mats, and made a huge mega bed! We talked a night but it was fun!
Tuesday-we got up super early, like at 3, we got ready and went out to wait for the buses, two little vans came and we had to squish 18 elders in the same van and then the hermanas went in the other, we got to xela in record speed, 30 min!! I've never seen someone drive that fast. We got to xela, and we had our multi zone conference. It went really good, president talked a lot about the faith and the companionship and a lot about the health and the cleanliness of our houses. It went really good, after we had our district meeting, it was my first one to lead, but it went really good, it was fun! After the meeting I called the doctor for an appt, he said at 2 and that was two hours from what time it was, we went to the mission office and got a few pamphlets from there and then went to the doctors office, we went and he took out the stitches, after he just said I need to put some cream on the cut and my skin, so that it would help not irritate my skin. We then came all the way back to momos, we made it back late, but somehow got lucky and caught a bus back to our area! We got back and knocked on doors and found a family!! We left a prayer with them and will come back later.
Wednesday- Today we got up and went out to find some people, we knocked on a ton of doors, we met a couple of people but a lot don't want anything to do with us, we then found this old couple, he is like 80 and she is 78, but we found them, and we taught them the whole fist lesson, they loved the part about joseph smith and everything that happened, they were so interested in the book of mormon! It was so awesome, the spirit was so strong and I could just see how happy they were! They are the best old couple out there, but we are coming back with them next week! We then went and visited some members that are in active and talked to them about faith and invited them to some things. It went really well, they said they would come back to church and go to the activities. We then came back and it started pouring, we ran for our lives haha.
Thursday- Today we got up and got ready then started on washing our clothes, after we got all our clothes washed we hung them up to dry, then started our studies and then we left, it started pouring!! We walked about 45 min to this place getting drenched by water, we got there and found this nice lady in a tienda, she received us and we taught her about the restoration and she took it mildly well, but the spirit was really strong and I just felt good about her. We then visited this member that always drinks, he was drunk, we still talked to him, we talked about how he could be this great example for his kids and his wife, it went really good even though he wasn't all there haha, but I know he can change and he does too. We then ran to our house cause the rain again, and RIP to our clothes they got soaked…
Friday- Today we got up and left to go knock on some doors, we found this old lady, she only spoke quiche, I was up and talked to her in quiche for a bit, but she said she didn't want a prayer from us cause she is catholic and she accepts people that go there, but my comp asked her in spanish if we could come inside and she was like yeah, because she doesn't understand and by comp tried going in and she like hit him on the head haha, she kept showing us a cross and told us to go! Haha it was an experience, one day she will come to let people in. By the way it was pouring rain! We then came back and my comp made some food from his country and ughhh so good!! We then left to walk like an hour and a half to this place and we visited some families we found the last week, it went really good, but a lot of people don't like to receive us. But its okay, the mission goes on haha, we then went walking and it started coming down hard, we were soaked, we visited like 4 members but none were home! So we started coming back to the house, and I can't explain how much rain there was, it was like a hurricane I swear we were running and screaming haha, we made it back to the house and just changed and got in dry clothes haha, but then the lightning was so loud and thunder, where we live is really high up in the mountains, a ton of trees close by were getting struck by lighting!! It was so crazy but awesome!!! We did some studies and then talked to each other and got to know each other a lot more!!
Saturday- Today we got up and got ready and then left and visited a couple of people, we met this old couple that are in there 90{s, the guy is mayan, like that's his religion, it was cool to learn what he believes in and does haha, but we left a prayer and asked if we could come back and help them with anything and they put us to work right at that moment, we helped chop wood and then bring it to there house! It went really good and they want us to come back so we can teach them! Later on we went with this member that leaves almost 2 hours walking, we made it there and we had a family home evening there with his family and his inactive brother, we then ate dinner, and oh it was so nice to get some food from someone! Haha it was really good, he then drove us back home because it was late! We got back and watched some of our investigators play soccer with the members!
Sunday-Today we got up and our church is at 9, we got up at 6Ñ30 and at 8 our first counselor called us and asked if we could give 15 min talks today…. Not the happiest when they do that, we were like sure. It was about missionary work, you know before in my house I would always get my mom to help me, and I would write down my whole talk! When I got here, I did not know any spanish so I would write it all down then read it basically, well this time, I just had like 5 points, and just went up and talked and quoted scriptures every now and then, but I talked for almost 20min, I didn't even know!! It's so crazy that I can do that now and in spanish!! After church we had a meeting and then we came back and had lunch! Then we left and visited this lady that doesn't speak much spanish, just Quiche, anyways we talk her the best we could and I think she understood the points we had haha. We then went and found some other people, knocked on tons of doors, but nothing, just doors slammed in our face, or the people just running in and hiding, or people acting like they don't understand us!! But the mission goes on haha.
I'm loving it out here so much, it is so fun to be working with my comp in this beautiful place and get to know and love these people here. Sometimes its hard but you know that the mission and we learn from all of this, I'm so grateful for my mom, it was her birthday this past Thursday and just want to wish her and tell her thanks for everything she has truly done for me!! And my dad since it was Father's Day today!!! Miss you dad and thank you for everything you have done and the example you have set for me!! I miss all you guys so much and love ya!!!! See you soon!! Till next week!
