Week 41 (Week 40 Catch Up)

Monday’ Today we got up and went got our haircuts then we went to church and played volleyball with our zone, it went really good. We then out to eat at the same pizza place we go to every P day because that's the only like food place in our area haha. We then went and wrote our families and that went okay, just some things happened but Its all good. We then went to a noche de Hogar with our friend Diego and that went really good, he shared about having faith and always enduring.

Tuesday’ ‘Today we got up and left for our district meeting and that went really good we talked about working with the inactives and getting references off of them and it just went really good. After we went to lunch and had this amazing chow mein!! Later we visited some investigators but they weren't home!! None of them, but in the night we visited our convert Margarita, and we talked about Following the Prophet and the Sabbath Day it went really good. After that cita, we went home but when we were going home, like 20 dogs gained up on us haha, we were backing up and my comp pulled out those fireworks that you throw at the ground and pop, (Pop its) or something like but he threw a bunch and then they all ran away haha, I was grateful haha.

Wednesday ‘‘Today we got up and it was really cold, the wind was blowing way hard. We left to visit this guy that always tries to fight with the Elders, anyways we went and he was like first off I don't believe in the BofM and I read a third of it and it's not true, and told us what he read, but it was nothing to do with the book, we just chilled and said a prayer then talked about the plan of salvation with him and he understood, then we just bore testimony of the BofM and of the plan and just left them, but I left a BofM on his bookshelf without him knowing haha, One day he will find out. We then got to visit with a recent convert, he is the only member in his family and his dad drinks all the time, so we went the rest of his family and shared a little video about faith and prayer! Later we tried visiting some other investigators but they weren't there either. After we visited this one lady that didn't really like us, but we just bore our testimonies and shared a little message with her and that's all we can really do. Today was hard not wanting to argue or show them up, but we just have to be nice and pacient and one day they will accept it, but the wind was crazy today, my eyes are dead because off all the dirt that got in them haha.

Thursday’ So our president and the bishop called telling us about a Tragedy that happened, so this guy died on this big road, a bunch of people went to go help him and they all got ran over by a huge semi during the night, 19 were killed and like 17 are in critical condition, it's really sad. But Today I woke up feeling freezing, I then had to go to the bathroom, I took a shower and felt a little better, we had our planning today, we planned for next week, and I was wrapped up in a blanket and a sweatshirt, I did not feel good at all, but my comp was dieing too haha, we both went out to work a little bit in the morning and then went to lunch but I could not eat all of it, we came back and the other elders were like call the nurse, I didn't want to because all she would say was drink this and this and stay in… I wanted to work, we had some important appts today, but I called and she told us to stay in and rest, so we stayed in and pretty much slept the whole day, later we watched videos to see what ones we could show with investigators, we then went to sleep.

Friday’’ Today we got up and we were both feeling better, we then went out to visit a couple people and we found this family that we left a prayer with a the spirit was so strong with them. We then knocked on a ton of houses but no one was there. We went to lunch and the members weren't there, so we just went to this chinese tienda and bought some things there. We had like rice and beans haha, we then visited with this investigator and she loved hearing about the plan we had, she was really excited and it made me really excited. We then had a meeting with our mission leader and talked about stuff we can do with some of our investigators, it went really good. We then went Margarita{s our convert and we watched The restoration and had popcorn and a drink, she really liked it, and I left my USB with her so she could watch others!

Saturday’’ Today we got to have divisions with our zone leaders, I got to go with Elder Lopez to my area, we left and looked for some young kids but they weren't there, we then went with a member and did some service. Later we went to lunch and after lunch we met with this guy that makes ties for us and other things. We payed him and he gave us our stuff. We then visited with this joven who helped us translate things into quiche, we visited a couple of investigators and taught about lesson 1 and I love teaching it and telling them about Joseph Smith, it is so amazing! We then passed by some other houses inviting people to church tomorrow. We then went this guy that's here for Peace Corps and he speaks english! We got to teach a lesson to him in English, it was really hard because we both had a hard time explaining things in english but it was really fun to do and he understood a lot.

Sunday’’ Today we got up early again and went out to get our investigators and none of them were home, I was real frustrated, but it's all good. We went to church and it went really good. After church we went and visited a couple people, then we went to this one house and this old grandma was the only one there, she is really sick and we asked if we could give her a blessing, and we gave her a blessing a the spirit was so so strong, I loved it. We then visited with some other members at night and that went really good, we just received references.

This week went really good, except when I got sick, but its all good and we are working hard, and having fun down here in Nahuala, its been really sad here because of the tragedies that have been happening. But they are staying strong, and we are helping them. This next weekend is General Conference, I hope all you guys can listen in this weekend, we get to hear from our Prophet and Apostles, revelation from god! Monday’’ Today we got up really early got ready and left for Xela, we met up with our zone and we went bowling! It was super fun!! We then went out to eat at subway which was amazing haha! Later we all when to the supermarket called Paiz, we bought all of our food and other things for our house! We then went and wrote at this internet that was huge and it went really good. After that a member called and said that its probably not good that we come back, because there is another war.. So we called our president and he told us to stay in Xela, so we stayed with these other Elders. We slept on two beds, but all four of us squished on!

Tuesday’’ We got up and got ready to go, we left to a meeting for the leaders. I got to go on divisions with this Elder Norales, When I first started my mission I went on divisions with him. But now I'm a lot older in the mission and it went really good with him!! He goes home in two weeks, but he is an awesome missionary. We then got done and came back home and worked in our area for a little bit. We visited some investigators and members and taught about Faith and how they can keep pressing forward.

Wednesday’’  Today is my brothers B day!!!! Happy birthday vinny!!! Thanks for being the best brother in the world, Im so proud of you!!!!Today we got up and there was a bunch of crowds in the streets, and our president said to stay in half day, so we just stayed in and did our studies, later we went out and visited the people, we went with some of our investigators and taught lesson 1 with them and it went really good!! We then went with some members and shared some spiritual thoughts.

Thursday today we got to plan our week and it went really good, we have some positive people going into this last week! After lunch we went and did some service with a member. We made this huge fence around his crops and it went really good, my comp and I worked really fast and got it all done! After we went to a visit with our investigator Rufino, he is really hard, like a really nice person and all but does not want to change, and never wants to go to church with us, we talked about lesson 1 and the power and authority that god has and how we can have that same authority. IT went really good, he had a ton of questions and we explained it to him! It was awesome!

Friday’’ We got up early and left to Xela, we had a multi zone with all the Elders and Hermanas. It went really good, we have different ways in how we are going to keep investigators and just new way how we are going to work with them, our president had some really good words to say! Its awesome, and the spirit was so so strong!! We then came back and met up with our ward mission leader and talked about the new stuff we learned and our investigators with him!!

Saturday Today we got up and got to go to conference!!!!!!!! I have never been so excited to hear from our Dear Prophet and the 12 apostles. It awesome the session hear is in Quiche, but there was another room for people that wanted it in Spanish! We went to the one in spanish, its not the same as it is in english but its what we got and I was so happy! The first session was awesome! I love Elder Uchtdorf, his talk was awesome about the missionary work and how every single one of us is a missionary! And how Henry B Eyring talked about the importance of families and how we need to strengthen our families through the scriptures and spirituals. The second session was awesome too!! Elder Holland is just a beast when he speaks, his focus on the atonement of jesus christ was amazing!! The session for the priesthood was a really great session!! Gary E Stevenson talked about how we are a team as priesthood holders and need to help everyone with the power and authority that we have! And Dallin H Oaks focused on taking good decisions when we take decisions we need to be careful and always remember who we are! That was one thing my mom always taught me and Im so grateful for it, she always said [Remember Who you are[ every single time I left the house! That really helped me, The prophet then talked about repentance, that was an awesome and powerful talk!!

Sunday Today we got up and went to the church again,  Elder Cook and Elder Christofferson, talked about the importance in loving everybody, ministering to every single person and gathering zion, in these last days! Elder Christofferson said that The Book Of Mormon is the key to gather israel and help everybody come unto to christ! And the Prophet talked about the family and the importance of them in our lives!! It was an awesome talk! The second session was really good, I loved the talk by Juan Pablo Villar, he talked about his conversion story and that was really cool, then about how we need to strengthen our gifts that we have and use them!! That will help strengthen them! The new temples are awesome!!! Overall this conference was amazing and I hope everyone one of you got the chance to listen or watch it this weekend. IF not go back and read the talks, I love reading talks cause there is so many scripture references that we can look up!! I was a little bummed about no announcements about the missionary work, but its just rumors that keep going around, but this Conference really focused on our savior Jesus Christ and his sacrifice and how he is coming and we need to be ready, helping everybody come unto christ, helping everybody repent and be clean again, I love this gospel and I love what Im doing, I would never change this decision I made to come out here, Im a whole different person and I love this gospel and know it is true! I hope everyone of you can feel this spirit that was in this conference, I love all you guys and miss you guys!! Have a great week!!
