Week 33: Happy Birthday Josh!
Monday -Today we got up early and got ready to go to Xela, we got everything ready and left, we went to a bowling alley with our Zone, we just have our Zone leaders, and 4 hermanas, and us.. But it went really good we bowled for an hour and half, that was so much fun, we then left and ate at Panda Express!!! Later we went to Paiz to buy food, because there isn't a whole lot of different choices where we live, we bought a ton of food!! We then came back and dropped the stuff off at our house then went and wrote our families. We then had a noche de hogar with some members and investigators, it went really good, we taught about the principles of the Gospel, the spirit was amazing and the investigators were really interested.
Tuesday -Today we got up and left to visit a investigator we have, named Aracely, she is 24 has two kids and her husband died, we taught her another day, but today we had a hard time teaching her, she just wasn't accepting us and kept saying that she doesn't know, and we are like you need to pray and find out but she didn't want to, it was just hard.. We then had lunch and some amazing soup!! Later we did some service for a member and we built like a new room to his house, it was hard work but we got it done! We then had a baptism for the ward, this little kid got baptized, it went really good, it was really awesome and we met a bunch of people that aren't members!!
Wednesday- Today is the Day of the Millennial, we got up and went up to the roof, to plan where we were going to go. We left to a place called Pachipac, we knocked on doors all morning, we found a couple of people, the thing with contacting like this, we experience a lot of different and strange things, from people avoiding us, to people praying really loud when we pray, to people kicking us out, to everything.. But we found a couple, we then went out again after lunch and found a lot of people, a lot of people spoke quiche and my comp spoke a lot, I tried too haha, but it went good and at the end of the day we found 10 people, but something I learned today, is that I love knocking on doors, these first couple of months I was not a fan of it, but after today I love it, I love meeting new people, I love sharing this gospel with them, and it is so fun to find new people and bear testimony of this church.
Thursday- Today we got up at 4 in the morning to get ready and leave here by 4.30, we arrived to Xela around 6:30ish, we sang hymns with the Elders and Hermanas while we waited for our president. He came and brought Elder Zaballos and his wife!! He is of the Quorum of the Seventy, we started and our President gave a really great talk about working hard and diligently, then Hermana Zaballos talked about how our missions is a mini life, and to enjoy it before it is over soon, that we need to take advantage of our call to serve the lord, then Elder Zaballos talked about four principles of success for a missionary, the spirit was so strong when he was talking and he invited to talk with everyone, the bus drivers, people on the bus, people in the street with everybody and we have to contact 10 people each day for each missionary. It went really good, we had lunch and I got to talk with some friends, then we came back to Nahuala we did some contacting but, nobody was letting us in, everybody kept kicking us out, it was hard but we kept going, then we had some visits with members and got to know them and receive references from them.
Friday Today we had our weekly planning and planned for our investigators and cosechas, we then went to lunch way in the mountains, she gave us some soup but let's just say it did not stay well in our stomachs after.. We then met with Ana our investigator, she only speaks Quiche so I kind of just sat there.. I hated it cause I want to talk to her so much, but I got to bear my testimony and she understood a little, we asked her to be baptized and she said she would think about it, we then went to knock on doors, we knocked on 6 doors, and the 6 received us!! A miracle! It was amazing, and we have appts to come back, we then visited with a couple members during the night and shared some attributes of Christ and it went really good the spirit was strong and one of them to come back and try the “Tu”it's just like a steam room that everybody has here in there houses, I can't wait!!
Saturday -Today we got up and we got ready then we had divisions with our Zone Leaders, I got to stay in my area and go with Elder Tukuafu and we went some visits in the morning and it went really good, we contacted a lot of people. We then had lunch and then came back and had some study time, after we went out to work again, it was just so fun working with him, he is so funny and we had a great time just sharing the gospel with everybody, every person that walked by us in the street we would talk with them and share something, it was really fun then we had some lessons where the spirit was so strong and it was just so cool!! IT was a lot of fun with him, we worked hard and walked a ton!!
Sunday- Today we got to go church and that went really good, I love going to church and renewing our covenants with god! We then left to lunch and the lady just gave us a peace of chicken, so we came back home and ate more, but we were so thankful for her. Then we went out to work, we had to take a bus because one of our areas, is like 40 min away in car, so went out there and visited with some members, talked with some people in the street and got info para come back later. Then we came back and met with one of our investigators Armando, he is 21, and really interested in our message we taught him the first lesson and focused on Joseph Smith and he loved it cause, he is really confused with all the religions too, he said he will pray and I hope he receives his answer!! But overall this week went really good, Im learning more Quiche, its hard but it's coming, I'm loving life out here serving the lord and my birthday is tomorrow!! So that will be fun! Miss and love you guys!!
