Week 24: Fake Shoes

Monday -We got up worked out a lot, we then dropped off our laundry, and then we went to the market to look for shoes for my comp, but the market is crazy!! But they are all fake, so we left and went to Paiz we bought protein! Then we went to lunch at this Italian place, and ohh so good!! After we wrote our families, then we got our haircuts, after we had a Family Home Evening with a family!!
Tuesday- We got up and worked out, then we went out and visited with some families, it went really good we contacted a lot. We then had lunch and she gave us some really good  soup, later we visited with our investigators and it went really good, the spirit is so strong sometimes, its just awesome to see people's life change! Its crazy sometimes, I see myself teaching in a different country and in a different language, it's just so cool!! We then visited with others and later we played soccer with some of our investigators in the church!
Wednesday- Today is Day of the Millennial and we started in the morning, it was probably one of the hardest mornings ever, no one wanted anything to with us, we knocked on probably 40 doors and only 15 opened and only 1 let us in and talk! It was really hard, but after lunch we went out again, and we met some people, we met this family with this cute little baby, and they seemed really interested!It went really good, at the end of the day we got 10 new people, not much but enough!
Thursday- Today we got up and we went to our district meeting and had a really good one, the President is kind of disappointed in us because we haven't been having many baptisms this month for the mission, our zone leaders talked about a meeting they had with all the leaders and President, it went really good and I learned a lot! We then came back and visited some new people and it went really good. We visited with Paula and brought a member with us, they really connected and are good friends now. WE then had some Family Home evenings with a couple of families and it went really good.
Friday- today we woke up at 3 and got ready and left to xela with the ward members on a bus, I tried to sleep on the bus, but it is almost impossible because the ride is so bumpy, we arrived, I got to see my convert Leonor get baptized, then we were witnesses for like 200¡ baptisms haha, then we confirmed a little bit also! IT was so nice, the spirit was so strong! WE then had lunch and we came back to HueHue, when we got back, we visited with some investigators and it went good!! In the night we visited with a family that is in active and showed them a couple of videos and it went really good, they really felt the spirit and don't want to skip church again! Today was also Dia Del Diablo, and it is where they burn handmade devil{s and have fireworks like crazy, its like fourth of July haha, but it's crazy cause there{s fire everywhere and we had to be careful of the Fireworks in the street haha.
Saturday -Today we got up and traveled to this new families house, we got to meet more of their family and then we kind of introduced ourselves and talked about what we will be teaching them, it went really good and they seem really interested. After we came back and planned our week for this upcoming week. We then went to a Family Home Evening, and they had some friends that aren't members, we contacted them, and had a great FHE. After we got Permission to go to our soon to be converts wedding. We helped a lot because they were not ready, and the bride showed up 1 hour late, ahah our investigator. BUt it went really good, I don't know it was weird, it didn't seem like she wanted to get married haha, it was just weird but it went good.
Sunday -today we woke and went to church, we had no investigators come which kind blowed, but church went really good and I learned a lot. We then came back to the house and had lunch, after we studied a bit, then we left for a big Stake Activity at the stake center, we then practiced singing in the choir, later we greeted everyone with all the missionaries of our district. We then had the meeting and it went way good, lots of singing and great messages shared, it was packed with people, a lot of investigators, we then sang the last verse as missionaries then we had a snack after and we contacted all the investigators. We came home and we might have changes, we got to hear tonight, The Zone leaders called and we had a group phone call with our district and they announced cambios, they saved us for last, and they were silent forever and it was killing me!! But i'm staying for another change in my area, my family!! Haha I was excited because we have so many baptisms coming up and I get to stay with my comp!!!!
Well that's all for this week!! We are going to Zachelu Again to Ruins for today{s activity, its gonna be a blast!! I am having a great time, I hope all of you are doing awesome!! Oh by the way, the climate right now is so hot, We haven't had rain in like 3 weeks!! Love and miss you guys!!

Week 1: Buzz Cut

Josh's 1st Week Email Wednesday:  A lot of missionaries were on my flight.  The flight was pretty amazing, the sunset was awesome.  When we arrived in Guatemala, we had to take a bus to the MTC and the traffic here is crazy.  It makes Utah look like nothing!  Guatemala is beautiful and so colorful.  We arrived in the morning, we did not get to sleep that much.  We had interviews, room checks, and identification checks.  Before we got our picture taken, they grabbed some of us and went to a room.  We went in and basically had to get a buzz cut.  I'm still kind of mad about that as well as others, but oh well.  We then had lessons for Spanish all day and a workshop at the end on rules.  I learned as much Spanish in a couple hours then I did in 6 months at school.  Food here is really good, lots of variety and fruit with every meal.  I got my companion who is Elder Money. Extras / Week 5 #ProofOfLife

There's not a lot of extra information, Josh's big email was the best we've seen yet.  Apparently he borrowed someone's Alphasmart and had the email ready so was able to send a few more personal emails this week.  Again, Hermano Mario Gomez is the real MVP sending me some pictures of our boy since the missionaries aren't allowed to take/send pictures while in the training center.  This teacher/friend of Josh's is coming to visit Utah in December and has never been to the United States.  We want to meet up with him! Josh was told he can't send mail back home, but I think it's just at the CCM.  The Mission On The Fly people will take packages home that and allow us to pay the shipping so no out of pocket for the missionaries.  Josh wants to send Guatemalan ties back for the deacons/young men. Extras: Week 11

Dogs are everywhere! I have seen people whip dogs with belts, dogs get hit by cars, dogs kill other dogs, little grandmas kicking the crap out of dogs. It's sad. Lots of puppies that die, because they don't have shelter or food. I hate that. People here just breastfeed in the opening and there have been times where they just breastfeed during our lessons and its okay for that here haha. Then they forget that its out, ugh, it's really uncomfortable. I saw someone roasting a cat…. That was horrible. I have seen people hit by cars, the traffic here is crazy, I would not want to drive here. When we up to that mountain the first time, I was with Elder Johns and we rode on top of the van to the mountain, then after in the city we were on a van, just holding on to the top and and our feet in the van.The vans and buses here, don't really stop you just kind of hop in and then pay as they are driving then hop out when you want, but there are so many motorcycles her
