Week 30: HueHue Goodbyes Prior to Transfer

Monday -We got up and we went to HueHue Centro early in the morning, we met up with the Elders of our Zone, we played soccer and basketball for like 3’4 hours, it was really fun to get out and run and play haha. Especially with the Elders of our district, we then we ate lunch and later in the night we got to go to a noche de hogar with some members in actives and it went really good, we shared spiritual thoughts, then they gave us pizza!!
Tuesday- Today we had to go to our district meeting, that went really good, I learned a lot from it. I then traded some ties with some missionaries. Later we left and we got to visit a couple of families in the ward and some non members, it went really good. We then played a little bit of soccer with some investigators and contacted a few people.
Wednesday- Today we got up and we went out the mountains to visit our recent converts, and it went really good, but she is kind of struggling with her husband, but we did some service for her and shared a little thought with them. We then left and visited with the family above us and that went really good, we talked to them about faith and wow the spirit was so so strong in the lesson, they were all crying too!! IT was really great, she then made some dinner for us after!!
Thursday-Today we got up and had our Weekly planning, that went really good!! We then went and visited a couple people during the day and later we had a Noche De Hogar with our ward and it went really good, we talked about The Book Of Mormon, and it went really good,we handed out a ton with the friends that came! It was kind of like a going away party too haha, it was really good though.
Friday -Today we got up and we got to go to lunch with this Hermana that makes some of the best food, it was really good, we had some Jocan, it is amazing! Then we visited with a bunch of families and references we got from last night, it went good, not a lot were home but its all good. We then visited with my old convert Eric and his wife, that went really good, Eric is so strong in the gospel now and it is so cool to see his testimony grow!
Saturday Today we got up and got ready then we left to visit some of recent converts, and none were home, oh well, we cosechar or knocked on doors for a little bit though! Then we visited this in active family and it went really good, we taught a good lesson. Later in the night we came home and had some top roman!!
Sunday -Today we got up and went to church, I went to the ward council in Cerrito and my companion went to the sacrament meeting in La Vina, we were in divisions with members. But later went to the sacrament meeting of cerrito and it went really good, the power has been out so they just have to speak loud haha, but after church we took some pics with some of our friends of the ward, it was kind of sad!! They are like my family! We then visited this guy that hasn't been active in forever, but he wants to change his life around and we just talked and helped him! Later I had my last lunch with the Rios Family, they have feed me every single sunday I've been here, that was really good. We then visited a bunch of members in our ward and it was hard to say goodbye. We then came back to the house and got on the phone with the Zone leaders and they told us we had changes, so I'm leaving on tuesday!!
It has been an awesome experience being here in HueHue, I love it here, but I'm going to a different to experience new stuff, I can't wait!! But HueHue, ill miss a lot of stuff, the ward was basically my family and I had a lot of close friends. I'm enjoying it out here and I hope all of you are doing great and having a great time, keep safe and miss and love you guys!

Week 1: Buzz Cut

Josh's 1st Week Email Wednesday:  A lot of missionaries were on my flight.  The flight was pretty amazing, the sunset was awesome.  When we arrived in Guatemala, we had to take a bus to the MTC and the traffic here is crazy.  It makes Utah look like nothing!  Guatemala is beautiful and so colorful.  We arrived in the morning, we did not get to sleep that much.  We had interviews, room checks, and identification checks.  Before we got our picture taken, they grabbed some of us and went to a room.  We went in and basically had to get a buzz cut.  I'm still kind of mad about that as well as others, but oh well.  We then had lessons for Spanish all day and a workshop at the end on rules.  I learned as much Spanish in a couple hours then I did in 6 months at school.  Food here is really good, lots of variety and fruit with every meal.  I got my companion who is Elder Money. Extras / Week 5 #ProofOfLife

There's not a lot of extra information, Josh's big email was the best we've seen yet.  Apparently he borrowed someone's Alphasmart and had the email ready so was able to send a few more personal emails this week.  Again, Hermano Mario Gomez is the real MVP sending me some pictures of our boy since the missionaries aren't allowed to take/send pictures while in the training center.  This teacher/friend of Josh's is coming to visit Utah in December and has never been to the United States.  We want to meet up with him! Josh was told he can't send mail back home, but I think it's just at the CCM.  The Mission On The Fly people will take packages home that and allow us to pay the shipping so no out of pocket for the missionaries.  Josh wants to send Guatemalan ties back for the deacons/young men. Extras: Week 11

Dogs are everywhere! I have seen people whip dogs with belts, dogs get hit by cars, dogs kill other dogs, little grandmas kicking the crap out of dogs. It's sad. Lots of puppies that die, because they don't have shelter or food. I hate that. People here just breastfeed in the opening and there have been times where they just breastfeed during our lessons and its okay for that here haha. Then they forget that its out, ugh, it's really uncomfortable. I saw someone roasting a cat…. That was horrible. I have seen people hit by cars, the traffic here is crazy, I would not want to drive here. When we up to that mountain the first time, I was with Elder Johns and we rode on top of the van to the mountain, then after in the city we were on a van, just holding on to the top and and our feet in the van.The vans and buses here, don't really stop you just kind of hop in and then pay as they are driving then hop out when you want, but there are so many motorcycles her
