Week 13 - Quetzaltenango Temple Trip
Monday today we got up and we went to Megapaca, it is like the DI but tons more stuff and most of the clothes are from Utah! I see comp soccer shirts all the time from Utah haha. But my comp got some stuff, but I just looked. Then we went shopping for food and wrote our parents! After we came back and we visited one of our investigators with the Relief Society President and that was awesome, you could really feel the spirit and we invited them to activities and church and they accepted! Then we visited with another family for the rest of the night.
Tuesday We got up and my comp kind of slept in because he's sick. We then had our study time, and after we visited with some really good Families that are priorities for us. After we had activity at the church for everyone, they had a bunch of tables set up, and had food that they were selling for a fundraiser. But after the Women played basketball, then the men played soccer and after they invited my comp and I to play basketball with the men, I was so excited, we called the zone leaders and got permission, we played in our missionary clothes, but it was so fun! A guy that has been struggling on coming to church and activities came, and I got to be on his team, and he was pretty good so we are really close now! Haha But it was a good day, we had a lot of references today from the activity.
Wednesday Today we had our study time in the morning, then we went to lunch and had really good salad with so many different things in it!! Then we help some people fix their car in the middle of the road. They asked us who we were and we explained and they were interested and we got their contact info! Then we had to walk way far to Prado, a city that is not in our area but we got permission to teach a family. They are really nice, and they are super interested. We had a great lesson with them, we then ended the night at one of our investigators and we had a really good lessons with them too! We had dinner with them and then got a call that our meetings for my comp and I are in the morning in Xela!! So we have to get up early tomorrow to drive all the way to Xela.
Thursday Today we woke and we had our study time. We then had lunch at the Bishop{s house and we talked with wife for awhile. But we had a meeting with the Mission Leader at the church, we arrived early and were talking with kids playing soccer, when an old contact that we met like the second day, came up to us high, and told us he needed help and if he could talk to us. We talked to him until our leader showed up, but he said he would wait for us, after the meeting we walked with him to the activity at a members house. As we were walking he asked me to speak in English to him fast, so that he could practice his English. It was actually really hard for me to put sentences together and actually talk English which is crazy! But later after he was better, I talked to him about the B of M and invited him to read and pray about it, he was really excited because he loves the Bible, and he said he can't wait to read it and that he would read a chapter a day, it was really cool to teach him and not be able to speak English that well! We then ended the night with Hot chocolate with rice, it is so good!
Friday Today we woke and we had no water!! So we had to get water from our washing station outside and warm it up a little and bathe with a little bucket haha, but after we went looking for Christian that we met with last night, we ended up not finding him, but his brother in law we met, and we taught him 3 lessons in like an hour haha, it was really good and he seems really interested. We then met with some of the young men and answered questions they had about missions. After there was an activity at the church, and they had a cookout and also had the youth and little kids sing like solo{s in front of everyone and there was group dances and singing, it was really cool to see the culture!! They also had really good food, it was really cool and we got a couple of new people contacted.

Saturday We woke up today and we got a call from the Hacedores and they kind of argued with companion and he was really frustrated after, but I help calm him down and bought him his fav treat haha. But we had our study time before lunch at the bishop{s house. They always make soup for us, but it is different soup every time and they are so good! We then met with Erick tonight, we have been trying to get him to pray, and he won{t for like 6 lessons, but today he prayed with help from his fiance! But still good, the lesson was also really good with him. We then had dinner at a inactive members house and we taught them a lesson too! It was great! One thing I forgot to tell all of you, is when we have lunch or dinner at people{s houses, sometimes they don't have enough utensils, so we just eat with our hands, it was weird at first but Im already used to it.
Sunday Today we woke and we went to church, at church we had a great time. After we met with Josue our recent baptism, and we talked to him about temples and more about the priesthood, it was really nice. We might get to go to the temple with the ward on saturday, so I hope so! We then had lunch and met with the Lopez family and talked to them for awhile! Later we had dinner with the Gonzalez Family and after we had a little family home evening with them, it was really cool to hear their testimonies. It finally rained and we got soaked but I didn't care, it felt so good to have rain! We haven't had it this whole week haha.
Monday Today, I found out that we have been on a storage backup water for the last three days! Cause their hasn't been water, so we have to conserve it every time we use it haha. But today we didn't have P day because we are going to the temple tomorrow, so we switched days for this week. Anyways today we met a lot of new people but we also did a lot of service! The first house was Hermano Jose, we helped him cut his grass and rake it. That was fun, after we went to Hermano Calderon and helped him clean and fix his well, that was hard work, but in the end we had family home evening with his family and dinner, and that was a great lesson and food. We had nachos, but the meat was beef, pulled pork, chicken, and cow. It was actually really really good!!
Tuesday we had to wake up way early today, we got on the bus at like 4 and traveled to Xela, We got there and got to go through the temple, and oh I love that temple so amazing! After we had lunch then, the older missionaries like a old couple, I don{t know what you call them, anyways they took us to my comp appt with the doctor and he wasn't there, so we had to go to a different place and then wait for him… Ugh we only got 10 min to write our parents, because we had to be back on the bus by 6 and we might get time tomorrow but I dont know. We drove back and it was a long bus ride because of the traffic. We picked up some Xela Pan in Xela, it is basically doughnuts, but the doughnuts here are so good!)in Xela, HueHue it is alright haha.
