Week 11: Rain

Monday-We woke up and got to walk the dogs again. After we took our laundry to the lady, then we went shopping for food and other things. Later we wrote our families then we got haircuts!! The guy kept calling me ¨Hombre de Utah¨haha. He was pretty cool. After we had an appt with a lady in the ward, and her husband is not a member. She has two little girls she takes to church and activities. She is really smart in the gospel, but her husband doesn't want anything to do with it. I found out he is the Chief Captain of the firefighters here in HueHue, so that's pretty cool and he is probably really busy. But we are going to find away to meet with him.

Tuesday- So it rained all night long!! Not just a little bit, a ton. Our front yard changed because so much rain haha. We had our study time and I got to have a lunch at an Hermana's house. After a sister gave us a tree branch to eat haha, it is called canlla the middle is edible, but not the bark, and you have to break the bark with your teeth and it is really tough, but it is pretty good! We had divisions for the evening and I got to go with Elder Principe, we got a lot of new people in his area, we then met back up with our comp for sleep, it started to pour again!

Wednesday- It rained all night again! We had divisions again and I was with Elder Norales again. Today was the Day of the Millennial, and the whole mission cosechars or harvests the field all day, we go to door to door. We had the Acedores here, and they travel in all the mission areas, and kind of check up on us, and help with us. I got to cosechar with one of them, and it was Elder Villajan he was AP for 4 months before, but he is from Peru, but he speaks English pretty well. He didn't speak English, though, but he taught me so much about prayer and following the impressions of the spirit for finding people. We found 7 new people and then I went with Elder Norales again and we just did visits for the rest of the night.

Thursday- We met back up with our companions at a district meeting, we had our meeting then we came back and visited the family above us. Their little girl was sick, and we got to give her a blessing, my second one!! It is so cool, cause words just come to me and I don't even know them sometimes. But when we finished her dad was crying and they said that he never cries, it was a really good moment for them. Later in the night, we went to a Hermanamiento and it is basically a family night at the church, they have people bear testimony, then a spiritual message, then a game and food afterwards. It was really good, and they made me conduct!! Not cool!! It went well, after we came back to our house, and we were walking down to our house and saw a big white barn owl, just flying above us, it was so cool!! I have never seen a barn owl that big before!!

Friday- Today we searched for a new family this morning and we found them, but our person wasn't there! It was really far, too! We came back and went to visit new families and people we had appts with and none of them were home, it was hard. Later in the night we had a couple, where the wife is a member and really active. Her husband however, is a Pastor for this Evangelical Church here, and we had the leaders of all the callings come with us. We showed a video about Eternal Families, we then talked and testified of them, and the spirit was really strong, but at the end we asked for his input and invited to pray and maybe come to church in a nice way, haha. He then was like "no" and saying that it is wrong and he doesn't believe it, but he said he would pray for what church is true… so hopefully the spirit touches him. It was really hard but it went well.
Saturday- We got up and had our study time, then we had lunch with this sister above us, and she made some really good soup! We then visited with this guy that has Alzheimer's. Then we had to go to Malacas, it is like a 30 min drive. But a guy in our ward took us for a baptismal interview for a little girl in the Hermana's area, and my comp has to do all the interviews. When we got there, it was pouring and we didn't bring jackets, so we got soaked walking to our appt with the Hermanas, we also saw a flash flood on our way there, it was crazy. We came back and visited with families for the rest of the night!
-So lunches here are like dinners in America. Lunches here are huge, because it is before people leave to work. They feed us so much, and I feel bad sometimes because they give us like all their food.

Sunday- We went to church and had a really good sacrament meeting, really good talks were given. We then had lunch with the family above us, and she made us some really good salsa!! We visited with them and then had a meeting with our mission leader of the ward. We taught Sister Mimi's son above us, and he has been less active for a long time. He has a few addictions and we taught him and showed an awesome video my companion had, it was really good, we made him pray to end our visit, and he started crying and the spirit was really strong. We then got to give Sister Mimi a blessing because she is sick, and that was really awesome, too!!

-Overall, it has been good, we will hopefully get more baptisms this next week. We have one more week till the first transfer change in my mission, but I might not change because my companion is my trainer, but we will see. It has rained a lot this week, but I love the rain!! I can't wait to teach more people, the Spanish is coming slowly but I'm learning, haha. Hope you are all doing well, love and miss you all!
