Week 10: Zone Conference
Monday-we woke up and went to
stores to buy food, boots, and watches. After we cleaned our house and then got
to write everyone. After we had divisions, just for the night, because my
companion and I had two appts at the same time. So I went with E. Norales
again, I love him, because he knows everything I swear! But he taught me some
new things and I just talked to him about my companion and other things. It was
nice, we got a lot of stuff done. Then I came back to my companion and that was
the day.
Tuesday-we woke up today and we
had our study time, then we went to harvest the field, and we went on a long
walk up a huge mountain and my companion always says he can out run me, and
that won´t happen. Anyways walking up the mountain and my companion was dying,
but we met this family, that believes in God, but does not have a church. It
was perfect, but they don't have cell phones, so we can't contact them, and
have to risk walking all the way out there, it is like 6 miles out and back.
Then we had a big family home evening with the bishop´s family and Erick, our
investigator, and his fiance. It was so good for him, we will probably invite
him to be baptized this week! Which is awesome!!
Wednesday-Today we had our study
time, then we had a Multi Zone conference and it lasted like 6 hours. But all
the zones in HueHue and from Quiche all came together. Our president talked to
us, and taught us new instruction, and his assistants. After we had cake and
lunch. We then got our packages from our parents and we picked up a bunch of
things. Later we went and visited some families for the rest of the
evening. When we came back to the house, we invited the young men's President
and his brother over for pizza, tiki, and uno! It was really fun to get to talk
to them and hang with them.
Thursday-so I found out that my
district leader's companion is done and going home, so we are going to be in a
trio, and get to go to Xela for the day and then come back and live with our
leader for 2 weeks. Anyways we woke up and walked these two pitbulls that our
are owners dogs, it was kind of scary because they are huge and to hold them
back from killing other dogs, was using our whole body haha. We then took our
laundry, and after we visited with some investigators and families then we got
a call from our President, saying that my companion is new district leader of
our district and our old leader is going to Xela, so we won't be living with
him anymore and I have to help my companion with being leader, haha. We then
picked our laundry up and came back to our house.
Friday-we got up and had our
study time. We then had lunch at this sister's house, after she showed us her
dog and it legit looked like a bear!! It was huge!! We then visited families
for the rest of the night and our last visit, was with Erick. We read the BofM
with him, and we explained that we need to pray and how he can help us. You
could feel the spirit really strong, we then invited him to be baptized but he
said not right now and that he needs to think about it, but said he would
sometime. So not the best answer but I really hope he will accept later.
Overall it was a really good day.
Saturday-Today we had breakfast
with the people above us, she makes really good food!! We then had our study
time, then we went to this bishop's house for lunch and his wife made us really
good stew, after we started our fast for tomorrow. Later we went to go visit
families but none were home. We then celebrated Dafne´s 9th birthday, she lives
above us and we had cake and ice cream, but we couldn't have any haha. That was
hard, we then tried to visit more families and got into one, we shared a quick
scripture and then we came back to the house above and the little girls wanted
to show us an experiment, it was really cool!
Sunday-We had church this morning
and we couldn't shower because the water wasn't working! But we went and guess
who showed up - Erick!- our investigator and he has never been before, after
sacrament meeting we met with him and had our own little class, we taught him
the basics of sacrament. We then had lunch at Hermana Rio´s house and she made
us some really good stir fry. After we visited with families and the family
above us we talked for awhile, and it was so nice to talk with them and teach
them!
Overall this week has been way
better!!One thing about HueHue is that they make juices or drinks from fruits
and is not blended all the way but it is so good!! My Spanish is improving, but
I wish it would just come faster but it's little by little. I understand a lot,
but speaking is hard. I hope all of you are doing well, I love all of you and
miss you!!
