Extras: Week 11

  1. Dogs are everywhere! I have seen people whip dogs with belts, dogs get hit by cars, dogs kill other dogs, little grandmas kicking the crap out of dogs. It's sad. Lots of puppies that die, because they don't have shelter or food. I hate that.
  2. People here just breastfeed in the opening and there have been times where they just breastfeed during our lessons and its okay for that here haha. Then they forget that its out, ugh, it's really uncomfortable.
  3. I saw someone roasting a cat…. That was horrible.
  4. I have seen people hit by cars, the traffic here is crazy, I would not want to drive here. When we up to that mountain the first time, I was with Elder Johns and we rode on top of the van to the mountain, then after in the city we were on a van, just holding on to the top and and our feet in the van.The vans and buses here, don't really stop you just kind of hop in and then pay as they are driving then hop out when you want, but there are so many motorcycles here also. Like they are everywhere!!
  5. We had to help Hermana Mimi, the older lady above us, help change her father's clothes, and he is 90 something, but has Alzheimer's and wears a diaper, but we had to hold him up, while she changed him, and it smelled bad, and they took everything off.
  6. The bugs here are crazy!! Their is these wasp, bee things, and they are huge and red and have little arms spread open. We call them hug me bugs, they are sketchy haha. The spiders here are huge too.
  7. People light fireworks here all the time, but remember the Firefighter chief I talked about? He saved 400 people in the volcano eruption this past summer!! Crazy, and so many people died and you hear a lot of stories about it.
  8. When it rains here, there is so much lightning and thunder, the lightning is huge, and lights up the whole sky, the thunder sounds like a bomb, and shakes the houses and ground sometimes!!
