McKay's Temple Endowment


McKay received his endowment in the Jordan River Temple tonight and we were able to be there to support Josh's "brother from another mother."  We love KK!

Week 1: Buzz Cut

Josh's 1st Week Email Wednesday:  A lot of missionaries were on my flight.  The flight was pretty amazing, the sunset was awesome.  When we arrived in Guatemala, we had to take a bus to the MTC and the traffic here is crazy.  It makes Utah look like nothing!  Guatemala is beautiful and so colorful.  We arrived in the morning, we did not get to sleep that much.  We had interviews, room checks, and identification checks.  Before we got our picture taken, they grabbed some of us and went to a room.  We went in and basically had to get a buzz cut.  I'm still kind of mad about that as well as others, but oh well.  We then had lessons for Spanish all day and a workshop at the end on rules.  I learned as much Spanish in a couple hours then I did in 6 months at school.  Food here is really good, lots of variety and fruit with every meal.  I got my companion who is Elder Money. New Young Bishop

Monday- Today we got up and went right to momos, we got to the zone leaders house and dropped off a few things, then went over to the church. We met all the hermanas and zone leaders for my district activity. We made tacos!! We all started to cook, like everybody and it was a little crazy but it went really good, we finished had a prayer and watched a movie while we ate the tacos!! It was really fun!! After we played uno for a couple of hours, then we left and went to write our parents, that went really good. After writing we all went and got ice cream after, then we had to go to look for a family, so my comp and I left but we didn't find one, everybody just kept denying us. We then went to a family home evening with a member from the ward over here, her son is leaving on a mission this week, but the whole zone came over, all 24 of us!! Crazy! Still Soccer Back at Home

This week at home was a sporty one - soccer and XC for Vinny.  He was able to be a ball boy at the REAL Salt Lake Game with his soccer club.  This was a televised game and we had fun spotting him a couple of times.  They had some rain and delay time, but he had a blast. We drove to Utah County two days in a row.  The first was for a scrimmage that made everyone a little irritated - driving an hour and a half in rush hour traffic only to realize the scrimmage was with a girl's team.  Nothing against girls (I am one - girl power) but it wasn't worth the drive. I drove Vinny and his friends down to Orem for his friend, Haley's tournament game.  Another blowout, but it was fun to support her and we had a fun road trip and finished it off with Swig drinks and cookies for Vin's friends who'd never been there. Vinny's new headset and mic after Octavia chewed the other one that was left on the couch overnight.  Naughty dog!
