Called to Serve


 Josh was called to serve in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission, reporting on June 27, 2018 to the Guatemala MTC in Guatemala City!






We did a live facebook video and live instagram feed - everyone was thrilled for Josh!

Monday -today we got up and left early! We had to go to xela, we stopped at walmart first and got a couple things then we went to the offices and waited for like 2 hours, and finally our president showed up and interviewed us, we just talked with him about something then we left and went to this restaurant with really good burgers. WHile we were there, I got a call from the president, he asked me if we could be in a trio with this other elder! SO our zone leaders had changes well one of them went up to be assistant and the other one stays in Momos but in a trio with us, so we have to cover both areas now!! We came back with Elder Paxtor our new comp and wrote our families then my comp and I went to our area and Elder Paxtor stayed with some other elders in his area.  Tuesday- WE got up and we went down to momos for our district meeting, I started it and it went good. Week 1: Buzz Cut

Josh's 1st Week Email Wednesday:  A lot of missionaries were on my flight.  The flight was pretty amazing, the sunset was awesome.  When we arrived in Guatemala, we had to take a bus to the MTC and the traffic here is crazy.  It makes Utah look like nothing!  Guatemala is beautiful and so colorful.  We arrived in the morning, we did not get to sleep that much.  We had interviews, room checks, and identification checks.  Before we got our picture taken, they grabbed some of us and went to a room.  We went in and basically had to get a buzz cut.  I'm still kind of mad about that as well as others, but oh well.  We then had lessons for Spanish all day and a workshop at the end on rules.  I learned as much Spanish in a couple hours then I did in 6 months at school.  Food here is really good, lots of variety and fruit with every meal.  I got my companion who is Elder Money.
